Some people think that the Rococo style is the final or highest stage of Baroque. The judgment is erroneous, since Rococo was created in opposition to the Baroque worldview, and also represented a completely separate world of forms and ornament. However, this trend unconditionally represents a combination of luxury and pomp. If you want to create a rococo style kitchen, be sure to understand for yourself the main features of this retro movement.
Rococo style story
The direction of Rococo, which was both a style and a creative approach, was born as a result of the fact that people are tired not so much of the Baroque aesthetics as of the number of values and phenomena embodied by them. Rococo appeared in France at the end of the reign of Louis XIV. The Sun King turned his courtyard into a huge theater, in which the courtiers served as actors, and the representative interiors of Versailles were the scenery. When the rule of this absolutist monarch began to crumble, and the pompous interior of the royal palace was worn out by its harsh brilliance, the artists and the courtiers themselves sought to find a new aesthetic framework.
The Regency of Orleans Philip became a creative impulse, which, after the death of Louis XIV, took command of France for eight years. Then the estate moved to Paris, which in itself caused a big movement among furniture manufacturers and decorators. The new fashion was already developing during the reign of the next monarch, so the French Rococo is known as the style of Louis XV.
The name Rococo comes from an ornament called rocaille - an asymmetric decorative motif that, due to the curving bend and uneven edge, resembles a mane of sea waves. Rocaille was used as an element of decorative decoration, but was also observed in the patterns of furniture legs, forms of panels, fittings, etc.

The Rococo style interior is characterized by a casual character, at least against the backdrop of the Baroque style. The architectural units (pilasters, columns or arcades surrounding the walls), which were previously used in representative rooms of not only palaces, but also of rich mansions and burghers' houses, gave way to gypsum boards, sometimes irregularly shaped.
Rococo designers are also eager to use stucco, sometimes painted or gilded. The walls are often painted in pastel colors in combination with white, covered with fabrics with floral patterns or glued with similar wallpaper.

Often used in baroque interiors is floral motifs such as wreaths, garlands or bouquets in vases. An element of interior decoration, including furniture, you can choose an oriental style, for example, Chinese ornaments.
Rococo-style interiors are characterized by a weakening of the attraction to symmetry. The care for harmony and balance of the composition has been undertaken, but tough, strict arrangements as a whole have been avoided. The main elements of interior design are placed on a regular basis, beautiful furniture is located more freely. Concern for elegance undertaken, sophisticated appearance found. Rococo as a creative attitude is noted not only in interior decoration, but also in functionality.

Rococo style significantly influenced the appearance of the furniture. Designs are characterized by an integrated form in which individual elements, for example, a chest of drawers with legs, a furniture front with sides, are combined into a single whole. The visible structure of the furniture is considered a sign of blockiness.

Different species are often combined together to create effective arrangements. At the same time, rococo-style items decorated with carvings, such as tables and chairs, are popular. The furniture of this period usually has wavy lines and floral motifs.
The rococo ornament also returned at the end of the nineteenth century in an eclectic style, but, as a rule, instead of convex-concave planes, it was combined with straight planes supplemented only by a wavy line of the pattern. An example is German eclectic cabinets or cubic solid furniture.
