Hi-tech style on the example of a private house in Japan

Not so long ago, high-tech style was a new trend in the design of residential premises. The urban style, which was mainly used in architecture, was liked by practical homeowners who respect high technology and are skeptical about the "decorating" of their own homes. Nowadays, high-tech can no longer be called part of the modern style, but like no other it meets the concept of the latest trends in the design of residential spaces:

  • maximum practicality and functionality of all interior elements;
  • simple shapes and lines;
  • the use of new products in the field of modern technology;
  • concise color solutions;
  • the use of the play of light due to reflective surfaces, built-in backlight;
  • the use of built-in furniture, which saves usable space, but does not look massive, depressing;
  • minimal decor that will not distract from the main idea of interior design.

Spacious and bright rooms with a minimal set of furniture, nevertheless appears in an incredibly comfortable and cozy manner. It may seem to many homeowners that interpreting the hi-tech style in a modern home is more suitable for young people who are following the latest developments. But you can use the urban motifs of the design of the space with elements of a cozy, warm and such a home environment. Often simple solutions are the most convenient.

One of the main elements of a high-tech interior is lighting. For the abundance of sunlight, large panoramic windows are necessary, which not only provide a high level of illumination during daylight hours, but also create a visual expansion of space. For dark time, a backlight system is integrated at different levels. Lighting devices are located not only on the ceiling, they highlight the furniture, certain areas, segments of the room with different functional loads.

From the point of view of choosing a color palette, the hi-tech style cannot boast of a variety of colorful solutions. The main colors of the style are white, all shades of gray, black, less often brown. Steel, chrome and silver surfaces, glossy and reflective coatings that create original illusions are part of a special approach to the design of living spaces. To present such color and textured solutions in a modern room is not difficult. And yet, for the home interior, I want to introduce an active color element, an emphasis that will attract attention, focus the eye. Such a piece of furniture can be furniture - a sofa or an armchair. A colorful carpet can also be used to create a contrasting accent.

The use of contrasting combinations is another feature of the high-tech style. And we are talking not only about color solutions, for example, the use of dark interior elements on a light background, but also the combination of smooth and textured surfaces, the use of matte and glossy planes within the same space. Such design techniques help to create color and textural diversity, without deviating from the basic idea of decorating a living space, without making sharp attacks that can undermine the harmony of technological design.

In the kitchen space, as nowhere else, the hi-tech style can “feel” at ease - it is this functionally loaded room that needs modern technologies, which are reflected in household appliances, in a simple but almost sterile environment, in simple solutions for the preparation of furniture and accessories kitchen area. Light, absolutely smooth, glossy surfaces of kitchen facades on the one hand provide the maximum possible number of storage systems, and on the other hand they do not look massive, monolithic, creating a visual expansion of the space.

The dining group is not just a contrasting, dark spot, but it becomes the focal center of a bright room that attracts glances and coordinates the location of other interior items. Simple and concise forms were used to organize a place for meals, paying tribute to ergonomics and comfort. Practical, but at the same time high-quality materials used for the manufacture of the dining group, their appearance demonstrates the durability, strength and ease of use of furniture.

For decoration of utilitarian premises, such as bathrooms, hi-tech style is incredibly harmonious. In the room for water treatments, chrome surfaces, mirrors, glass and gloss look more than appropriate. Built-in lighting, original lighting fixtures are simply necessary in a room where it is so important for us to feel freshness, cleanliness and even sterility.

Even when organizing the situation on the outdoor terrace, you can use the motives of the style of "high technology". Of course, in the open air, nature itself will be a key design element, and homeowners and designers will only need to create a decent environment for rest and relaxation - simple garden furniture with soft pillows, a comfortable little table stand and a lighting system for the dark, will not require large expenses resources.
