A non-trivial approach to the loft style in the design of a German apartment

The loft style is characterized by the design of large spaces with a bias towards industrialism - the use of open communications and structural features of the premises as a kind of decor, the simplification of all segments of life, sleep and rest. Neutral palette, the use of the entire spectrum of colors from white to black, the introduction of natural shades to soften the industrial nuances. But in this publication we would like to acquaint you with the interior of one apartment located in Germany, on the example of which we can see that the loft style can be bright, colorful, technological and even shocking. Despite the fact that the basic principles of the use of loft-style were respected - large-scale rooms with high ceilings, huge windows and wide doorways are simply and lacquered, while at the same time you can feel the influence of other stylistic trends, such as pop art and eclecticism .

By tradition, we begin our tour with the central room in the apartment - the living room. True to the theme of the loft style, the room is furnished minimalistly, there is a lot of free space, almost the entire decor has a functional background. But at the same time, the common room for the whole family is incredibly colorful, it amazes with the choice of color palette and the way of decoration. As a rule, brick walls become accents in the interiors of living rooms, but in this living room, with a bright combination of the whiteness of the ceiling and the blue of the wall decoration, neutral shades of brickwork became only the backdrop for a very colorful artwork.

The modular system of upholstered furniture, composed of parts with upholstery in various shades of gray, has formed a roomy sitting area. The original design of stand tables, made in the form of snow-white bee honeycombs, connected in a chaotic manner, complemented the external image of the leisure segment. The lighting system is represented by a large golden chandelier with a double-row arrangement of shades and a snow-white floor lamp, which, together with a bright blue armchair, organized a reading corner in the living room.

In rooms decorated in the loft style, often between different zones there are no partitions and walls in general. In the case of German apartments, all rooms are divided, many are equipped with interior doors. But the doorways are so wide, decorated with frosted glass inserts making them airy. With the space e looking fenced, air currents freely penetrate from room to room and create the effect of one large space. The living room is a passage room for two rooms - a dining room and a kitchen. Let's look first at the original dining room and consider it more carefully.

The dining room is decorated in very contrast - the dark walls are perfectly combined with the snow-white design of the doorways and the ceiling with a golden cornice, shining thanks to the backlight. The lining of the flooring continued with the design of the living room - a light breed of wood for parquet.

The dining group is represented by a capacious rectangular table made of wood and armchairs with soft seats, decorated in gray tones.

Another exit from the living room leads into the kitchen space. Despite the impressive scale of the premises, households in the kitchen can communicate with those located in the living room, the parameters of the impressive doorway provide this opportunity.

The kitchen is striking in scale no less than the rest of the rooms. In the decoration of the utilitarian space there was a division into walls painted in white tone and brickwork as a way of decorating vertical surfaces.

Using a brick wall as a decoration for a kitchen apron may well become practical, anne only an original way to finish, if you treat the surface with an additional layer of waterproof antiseptics and protective varnishes.

In such a spacious room, there was a place for the impressive size of a kitchen set with an angular layout. The combination of yellow and gray shades of the facades of kitchen cabinets creates not only a variety of the color palette of the kitchen, but also forms the character of the room. Most of the kitchen center is occupied by a capacious island with integrated household appliances and storage systems.

On one side of the kitchen island, a special counter was built on and bar stools of original design were set up to organize a place for breakfast and other short meals.

The use of wooden surfaces with minimal processing allows you to add the warmth of home comfort, which is so necessary for spacious rooms with industrial elements in the decoration. The image of a bright and original kitchen is completed by a large pendant chandelier, made in the constructivist style, whose interior design resonates with the shades of the kitchen set.

Instead of the usual double-leaf doors for a loft-style kitchen, a design decision was made to install simulations on wooden gates that are mounted on heavy metal hinges according to the type of street decoration. This unusual and even daring touch in the modern interior has added individuality and zest to the room.

Then we move to the personal rooms of the owners and first visit the main bedroom, in which both the decoration and the way of furniture departs from the traditional design solutions for the loft style. The original way of decorating the walls of the bedroom was a combination of brickwork with wallpaper, copper embossing which exactly repeats some shades of brick. It seems that the resulting harmonious alliance was created to be present in one room for sleeping and relaxing. Against the background of a brick wall, bright artwork looks great, which, together with a colorful chair of bright lemon color, diluted the gray-ocher bedroom palette.

The original design of the space around the bed has created a whole ensemble, in which it is not only pleasant to relax, but also can comfortably accommodate to work on a laptop with a cup of coffee. Thanks to the use of uniform materials for the execution of all elements of the sleeping corner, the entire ensemble looks not just as a whole, but as a complex, the existence of its individual parts without each other is simply impossible to imagine.

The bedroom storage systems are presented in the form of a capacious four-wing cabinet with a niche in the center of the structure. With such a large-scale piece of furniture, there is no need for a separate dressing room.

Near the main bedroom there is a bathroom, made with no less eclecticism in decoration. On the surfaces of the bathroom you can meet almost all the options for finishing a room with high humidity - mosaic tiles, brickwork, painting and gluing with moisture-proof wallpaper. Of course, surfaces that are most exposed to moisture are lined with light-colored ceramic mosaic tiles.

The original design of the space around the sink has become a highlight of the interior of the bathroom. And this is not only a matter of brickwork, which has become a way of decorating an apron over a sink, not only mirrors with lighting, but, first of all, the use of specially aged wood for the execution of countertops.

Another bedroom is able to provide at least three teenage children with comfortable sleeping places located in an interesting two-story furniture complex made of deliberately aged wood. Against the background of a light finish on almost all surfaces of the room, not only furniture items are clearly visible, but also the original decor, designer pendant chandelier.

There is also a TV zone and a place for study and creativity. The use of storage systems, represented by metal cabinets, from which paint partially peeled off, added to the original interior even more creativity.

In the space under one of the beds an original resting place is organized - a cozy corner where you can sit down to read a book or just chat. The use of white-blue wallpaper with a colorful ornament for finishing one of the walls brought not only color diversity to the setting of the corner, but also gave it more optimism and positive.

There is also a bathroom near the bedroom with a bunk bed, but with a more modest and neutral finish. For a small asymmetric room, a white finish was the most suitable option, it was possible to slightly diversify it with ceramic tiles in pastel colors.

Against the background of the snow-white walls, the original design and texture of the stone sink and wooden countertops are especially distinctive. The mirror with unusual lighting brought an element of futurism to the interior of a modest-sized bathroom.

Some rooms of the German apartments have access to a spacious balcony, where originality and love for bright decor items have not changed the owners of the apartment.

What could be better than breathing fresh air and admiring the excellent view of the surrounding nature, sitting in comfortable and bright seats?
