Three constructive ways to make a hammock for a summer residence

Let's take a seasonal opportunity to enjoy the aromas of the garden in the warmer months. It’s great to bask in the hammock in the country all summer, hiding from the hot sun under the shade of dense foliage, slowly sipping a cocktail. The braided rope structure can be replaced with analogues of tarpaulin, denim and camouflage fabrics. They are easy to build on their own and suspended not only in open space, but also on the terrace, ensuring a stay in the air in rainy weather.

The hammock can cling to the support both in a primitive way - with a rope, and with the help of modern devices - with the details of fastening sets. The first principle was patented 1000 years ago by the Indians, and today's technology has only partially modernized. Learn more about the manufacturing scheme below.

First, support the physical laws that state that the level of sagging of a suspended bed affects the load of the supports, the correct geography of its placement. The right decision is to hang the hammock a meter from the bottom plane with an interval of 3 m between the supporting structures. In the option, when you have to specifically set up the posts, the distance is increased by 35 cm.

If trees serve as a support at the location, the diameter of the trunks should be 20 cm. In the version with two columns, do not forget to "drown" them 1 m or 1.5 m into the ground.

In the priority choice of rope fasteners, a cord of 8 mm is taken. Its nodes are tightened tightly, and in order to avoid rubbing the fibers, a clamp is put on from the nylon tube.

Wooden rail hammock

1. We take the prepared fabric, and cut off the square panels 2 x 2 m. The pieces need to be joined with a double longitudinal seam.

2. We make bends on three sides of 2-3 cm and sew the resulting fold.

3. We measure 5 cm on the remaining edge, and repeat the action.

4. We saw off a round wooden beam with diameters of 4 cm and a length of 90 cm. You can use a shank from a shovel.

5. Insert the cooked stick into the fabric “tunnel”.

6. We get the mounting kit, consisting of a handle and a rope.

7. Symmetrically from both ends we wrap a tight loop around the inserted stick, and fix the hammock to the support with the free length of twine. In this case, it is convenient to hook it onto the hooks of the exposed posts.

Hammock on grommets

1. The fabric is similarly cut into 2 identical pieces. We adhere to the size of the paintings within 2 m.

2. Fold around the perimeter a tarpaulin or mattress teak with a fold of 3 cm and flash it on the machine.

3. We mark in the middle of the stitched fold space for holes with an interval of 8 cm, where the grommets will be located.

4. Strictly according to the intended scheme, we break through the designated places with the stapler where the metal bases will create a reliable base for fastening with ropes.

5. Thread the meter-long cords into the finished holes, and alternately tighten the loop on the steel ring.

6. Reliably fixed fabric construction, hang it between the supports.

Mexican model

The constructive part of the hanging hammock in this format is simple to disgrace, and looks like a cocoon from which even a nimble child will not fall out. A few clever movements and voila - relax with a bird's accompaniment.

1. Prepare two identical cuts of 2 m in width and 3.5 m in length. We bend the cut workpieces by 2 cm from all sides and stitch it on the machine to stiffen the edges.

2. We collect a continuous canvas from both ends with dexterous movements, and we bind them with twine. Then we wrap the strained ends a couple more times with a cord, and tighten with the finish knot.

It is advisable to put the nylon tube on the rope when attaching. The “noose” loop will help to properly hold the hammock and protect it from deep sagging.

As you can see, everything is simple. It remains only not to forget to bring a new hammock with you to the country.
