How to make a unique gift for men and women? DIY roses manufacturing technology in a bulb

It is always nice to give and receive as a gift the most beautiful queen of flowers - a rose. But ordinary bouquets are short-lived - after a few days the flowers begin to wither, and only beautiful memories remain from a beautiful gift.

How to perpetuate flowers for a long time? The answer is simple - make a rose in a flask with your own hands. Such a gift will please the owner for several years.

Hand made

On sale you can find many options for roses in glass, from cheap to expensive, from luxury to the most ordinary. But in fact, to make such a gift yourself is not difficult.

Previously, it was impossible to do this at home, because for the rose it was necessary to provide a vacuum in the flask and to ensure the tightness of the vessel. Such equipment was hardly possible to find for home use. But now all the components for the rose in the flask is not difficult to find.

Advantages and disadvantages

  • One of the obvious advantages of home-made products is cost-effectiveness.
  • The second advantage can be called uniqueness - you can realize any fantasy and idea with a rose of any color and size, as well as choose an unusual flask.
  • With proper dexterity and accuracy, it is possible to turn this process into a small, profitable business.

Of the minuses, one can name the fact that if the manufacturing technology is not followed, the rose in the glass will begin to fade and dry.

Step-by-step instruction

What do you need?

The components depend on the method of manufacturing the composition and stabilization of the rose. You will need:

  • the rose itself;
  • greens or moss;
  • Vessel or glass flask;
  • means for stabilizing the flower - glycerin, wax or hair spray;
  • dye (if necessary);
  • water;
  • tweezers;
  • threads.
The flower for the composition is selected with all care. The rose should be beautiful, fresh, blossoming, with a strong stalk, with dense petals. Roses grown in Ecuador are ideal for this purpose.

Stabilization

With glycerin

This is the best way, because the petals retain their natural shape and gloss.

  1. A freshly cut flower needs to be slightly dried for several hours. In this case, the cut of the rose should be four centimeters below the bud.
  2. Glycerin in the amount of five vials is diluted in boiled warm water in a ratio of 1: 1. If necessary, you can add dye.
  3. The rose is placed in a room temperature solution, and it does not need to be completely immersed - the rose absorbs glycerin through the stem.
  4. Every two days with a sharp knife you need to obliquely cut the stem of the rose by one centimeter, while you can slightly split the end of the stem for better penetration of the solution.

The settling period in the solution is from a week to two. After that, you can start compiling the composition.

Wax

Dry and clean flower is taken with tweezers and completely immersed in melted wax, and then placed in cold water. In this way, you can get a fairly strong flower for composition.

Wax is afraid of direct sunlight and exposure to high temperatures.

Polish for hair

  1. The excess petals are removed from the rose and placed for a week in a container with rice or semolina to remove excess moisture from the plant.
  2. After that, the rose is sprinkled abundantly with hairspray, after which it is suspended by the stem and allowed to dry.

In this case, the rose is not too strong and needs to be protected from dust and mechanical damage.

Vessel manufacturing

You can buy a special flask with a lid in flower shops, but you can make the vessel yourself. For the future flask, you need to choose a container of dense glass, without chips and cracks.

This glass will protect the rose from temperature extremes and falling dust. Capacity should be with a narrowed neck.

The vessel is washed, dried and degreased with a special composition. For pumping air, a special vacuum pump is required. If not, then the technology for making the composition will be slightly different. It is also necessary to choose a lid according to the size of the vessel so that it closes tightly.

The combination of components

  1. The stabilized rose is fixed at the bottom of the flask, adding greens or stabilized moss for aesthetics.
  2. Then, using a vacuum pump, the excess air is pumped out of the flask and closed with a lid.Since the rose is stabilized, air may not be pumped out, but in this case there is a risk of premature aging of the composition.

You can show originality and hang the rose upside down:

  1. Wrap the tip of the stem with thread, and secure the thread at the top of the bulb with glue.
  2. You can hide the thread under the moss or come up with a different decor.

There is another way to make a rose in a flask suitable for a glycerin-stabilized flower:

  1. In this case, the prepared rose is placed in a glycerol solution (3: 1) completely, covered with a lid and placed in a dark, cool place.
  2. If the solution decreases, it must be added.
  3. After two weeks, the glycerol solution is washed off, and the rose is washed.
  4. Then a fresh solution is poured, tweezers are shaped into petals and the flask is finally closed with a lid.

Possible problems and difficulties

Do not be upset if the composition could not be collected the first time - Need skill and proper preparation of roses and flasks.

  • Please note that the flask must be perfectly dry, clean and fat free.
  • The rose should be inspected for excess wilted petals.
  • Subsequently, the composition should be protected from direct sunlight, temperature extremes, dust and mechanical damage. Otherwise, the composition deteriorates, discolors and breaks.
  • The ingress of an untightly clogged composition into a room with high humidity threatens to change the appearance of the rose.
It is required to maintain air temperature from + 5-35 ° C. Dust must be wiped with a soft cloth or brush. You can use a hairdryer to blow off dust, but make sure that the air is not hot.

Storage time

Subject to manufacturing technology composition will delight its appearance from three to five years. If the rose burns out and deteriorates, pay attention to the temperature regime and the distance from the sun of your composition.
