Money tree or Crassula or Crassulaceae is the most common succulent among indoor plants. In total, there are more than 300 species of this plant in the world, among domestic florists the most popular is the tree-shaped crassula. Under favorable conditions, a money tree can reach two or even three meters in height.

Crassula is unpretentious. Is it possible and how to grow a leaf fatty? This is beyond the power of even the most inexperienced grower. With the help of seeds, the money tree, as a rule, is not bred, since the process is much longer and more laborious, besides, it is not so easy to get the seeds - at home, the rosula blooms extremely rarely. That is why its cultivation from seeds is almost not practiced and is used mainly for breeding purposes.

Features of propagation of Crassula using leaves

Unlike propagation with the help of a money tree handle, which is essentially a ready-made plant, to grow a plant from a leaf, you need to spend a little more time, but if you follow simple rules, success is guaranteed.

In order to propagate the plant, almost any healthy leaf is suitable; it can be cut off or gently broken off from an adult tree, or even just pick up a leaf that has just fallen. It is often the case that fallen leaves themselves root in a pot next to an adult plant and give new shoots.

There are 2 main methods of propagating a money tree using a leaf.:

• in water;
• in the ground.

The first option is preferable, since the preliminary development of new roots in the water guarantees a greater chance that the seedling will take root.

1. It is necessary to prepare a small container with water.
2. Cut sheet.
3. Carefully place the sheet in a container so that only the lower third is in the water.
4. If desired, root or other stimulants can be added to the water; root formation, but this is not a prerequisite.
5. After the appearance of the roots, the sprout is transplanted into a pot.

• 3 parts of turf land;
• 1 part of sheet land;
• 1 part humus;
• 1 part of sand.

Rules for caring for a young plant after planting

In the first year, a young money tree should not be disturbed by a transplant, so you must immediately choose the right soil and pot. Regardless of what material it is made of, the pot for planting a money tree should be shallow and wide, this will ensure the proper development of the plant and the formation of a strong trunk.

In no case should one forget about drainage, since its absence contributes to the accumulation of moisture in the substrate, which in turn leads to rotting of the plant roots and its death. This is especially important for young not yet mature plants.

The rules for caring for the rosula are quite simple:

• The plant prefers high light, but it should be protected from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
• Every 2-3 weeks, the pot with cassula must be rotated a quarter around its axis, this is done for uniform crown growth.
• Watering the money tree requires frequent and plentiful, it is carried out as the land dries up. Succulent is not worth pouring. In winter, watering intensity must be reduced to 1 time per month.
• Almost any universal fertilizer or special fertilizer for cacti and succulents is suitable for Crassula, top dressing is carried out exclusively in spring and summer every 2-3 weeks.
• Drafts and hypothermia should be avoided, the comfortable temperature is +22 degrees.
• Regular spraying of the money tree is not required, but it is recommended to periodically wipe the leaves from dust with a damp cloth.
